Suna no Yori:Using this jutsu, Gaara can cover himself in a compacted layer of sand, providing an additional defense should his Shield of Sand fail. Though quite effective, maintaining the armor requires a large amount of chakra and stamina.
Desert Coffin: This jutsu uses sand to grab the opponent and cover their entire body. This skill is primarily utilized for rendering an opponent immobile, but can kill the opponent by suffocation or by being followed with the Desert Funeral, which crushes them.
Desert Funeral: After wrapping an opponent with sand, Gaara will cause the sand to implode and crush whatever is within. When used to kill a person, the death is so quick that there isn't even time to feel pain. The pressure also produces a sizable fountain of blood. Gaara can control the pressure used in the attack, which allows him to merely break bones or completely liquefy an opponent.
Desert Imperial Funeral: Following the Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall, Gaara slams both hands palm down into the sand, creating powerful shockwaves that compress the sand. Anything buried in the sand is subsequently crushed.
Desert Prison: This jutsu is a massive version of Gaara's Desert Coffin, using an entire desert's worth of sand to trap an opponent.
Desert Suspension: Using his sand as a platform, Gaara is able to float in the air.
Tanuki Neiri no Jutsu: Once Gaara assumes his full Shukaku form, he can use this jutsu to put himself to sleep, allowing Shukaku's spirit to take over.
Saiko Zettai Bogyo: Shukaku no Tatte: Using sand, Gaara can create a toy-like replica of Shukaku roughly twice his size. The replica is created with extreme pressure and the hardest minerals in the area combined with his chakra, making it virtually indestructible. Although this technique requires a lot of chakra, it does provide for a very powerful defense. The main drawback, however, is that the replica doesn't move, so Gaara's opponent could just walk around it. Gaara has to make sure his opponent either can't or won't move.
Ryusa Bakuryu: This jutsu creates a massive amount of sand and sends it towards an opponent in the form of a wave, covering and "drowning" them in an ocean of sand. In addition to the wave effect of the jutsu, Gaara can control the sand, allowing him to attack his opponent while they attempt to outrun the wave. This appears to be the only one of Gaara's moves that requires hand seals, and in practice is virtually unavoidable. Once completed, it can cover an entire forest in sand. The follow up move is Desert Imperial Funeral, which compresses all the sand present, crushing the opponent.
Suna Bunshin: This jutsu creates a clone of Gaara out of sand. Perhaps the most versatile of all clones, this variant does not disperse when hit. When attacked, the affected area turns back into sand and snags the opponent. Major damage must be caused to actually disperse the clone (destroying its head, for instance); otherwise, it can simply reform.
Suna Shigure: This jutsu is an alternative to Gaara's Desert Coffin; it gathers sand in the air and then targets the opponent from above, covering them in a rain of sand.
Suna Shuriken: Once Gaara begins transforming into Shukaku, he can throw shuriken made from sand. Unlike regular shuriken, these are merely fast-moving balls of sand that cause blunt trauma, not actual wounds. They are thrown much faster than regular shuriken, however, so the blunt trauma caused can be considerable.
Suna no Tatte: This jutsu causes sand to automatically surround and protect Gaara from harm, even if it's self-inflicted, regardless of whether or not he wants it to. The shield is capable of withstanding considerably strong attacks and projectiles, and can be hardened to a point where it's stronger than steel. It can be defeated by avoiding it completely with extremely high-speed attacks, or merely overcoming the shield with incredible brute force.
Tama no Suna: Gaara surrounds himself entirely in a protective orb of sand to guard against attacks. He then uses Third Eye to watch his opponents movements and control sand as necessary to battle them. In addition to being extremely dense, this sand-sphere can form spikes from its surface to spear any would-be attacker who thinks that their own physical strength will be enough to penetrate it. Gaara can also use this technique to shield himself from his opponent long enough to perform his transformation into Shukaku, as demonstrated in his match against Sasuke Uchiha in the Chunin Exam.
Daisan no Me: This jutsu creates a floating eyeball out of sand that is connected to Gaara's optic nerves. Gaara can control the size of the eye depending on its use. Its main purpose is spying, since it can form and disperse in any location on command.
Futon: Renkudan(Only Shukaku can perform Futon: Renkudan): Shukaku takes a deep breath, distending his stomach, and punches himself in the gut, shooting a large ball of compressed air and chakra at an opponent, causing an enormous conflagration if it hits. Even opponents as large as Gamabunta are in danger against such an attack. The technique is also able to level trees and rip rocks apart.
Futon: Mugen Sajin Daitoppa: The user spews a large amount of sand from their mouth, devastating both the enemy and a large area around him.
